In anticipation of the release of Silk Music Showcase 06, Tom Fall enthusiastically presents a sampler of standout tunes from his mix. The four melodic, sun-kissed, and uplifting tracks chosen here represent the range of progressive sounds on Tom's mix, as well as the weekly label radio show from which it derives its name.
Veteran label contributor Jallen, whose moody and evocative remix of Dan Sieg's "Gloom" graced the last installment of this compilation series, offers the memorable Balearic gem "Across The Sea." A vintage uptempo progressive house groove is soon met with lush, layered pads and sparkling melodies, evoking a picturesque scene of Ibiza under the midday sun. A new lead theme, which is equal parts soothing and rapturous, is introduced in the breakdown, where gentle waves and the faint cry of a flock of seagulls complete the narrative of a blissful summer day at the beach.
Compilation and radio show fixture SNR joins forces with fellow Bay Area-based product Emote (his label debut) to deliver the euphoric "Sugoi." An exhilarating groove underpins myriad melodic layers, many of which have a hallucinogenic quality, including a gorgeous array of pitched-up vocal samples. In the breakdown, the vocal elements stand alone to convey their own sonic narrative, but are later joined, once again, by the euphonious, trance-influenced lead chords.
Finnish talent Erconomics makes a glorious debut with our label, thanks to "Cherry," a song that overflows with melody and, above all, blissful vibes. Jetting out the gate with volcanic force, the song's dizzying arp lines seem to suggest the consummate expression of artistic joy. The crescendoing melodic themes never let go of the listener, as the celebratory mood continues to peak throughout the arrangement.
We thrillingly welcome back Peter Illias and The Cynic Project to the compilation series, thanks to their debut collaborative work, "Horizon." A song that harkens back to the ethereal vocal progressive anthems of decades past, "Horizon" begins with a rolling, adrenalin-fueled bassline, as well as the "mystical" hues of a spiritually charged soundscape. The exoticism (if not eroticism) of The Cynic Project's vocal stylings reinforce the song's other-worldly ambience. Following The Cynic Project's transcendent vocal solo in the main breakdown, Peter resolves the visceral tension of the arrangement with a thunderous drop.

Although not as spectacular as it's younger brother The Midnight Remixed does have a couple of good tracks making it worth purchasing and eleven.five 'Leftfield' 's remix of Jason is one of them. Amazing work. DJ Fazbear
